Genesis Project is an artist’s residency catering to body-based artists who identify as working between disciplines and/or seek to integrate other disciplines into their performance practice through open-source collaboration and horizontal exchange of knowledge, as defined by the resident artists. Genesis Project facilitates an environment wherein creativity is the act of investigation rather than what is produced from it. This model yields an environment for the creation of unique body-based work. The residency is sponsored by Basekamp in collaboration with Culture Push, a New York-based non-profit art organization, in which diverse professionals meet through artist-led projects and cross-disciplinary symposia. The residency is directed by Arturo Vidich, co-director of Culture Push.
